• 19 members, caregivers and guests attended The meeting commenced at 7:00 p.m. Caroline Chiasson opened the meeting by reading the Minutes of Meeting from February 19, 2004. Caroline also reminded everyone that the annual BBQ/picnic get-together will be held at Mark and Heather's Smith residence on Sunday, June 27th, commencing at 2:00 p.m. More details to follow in the next newsletter. Kathy Kozell and Brenda Turner made the following joint announcement regarding the Visitor Training Workshop:
Kathy Kozell advised about an Ontario-wide ET Conference that had been recently held. She explained how ETs are in a position to be lobbyists on behalf of ostomates throughout Ontario and the issue regarding the amount of the ADP grant had been discussed at the Conference. In this regard, a letter was being drafted concerning an increase in the grant and would be delivered to Carol Jones, the Co-Ordinator of ADP Benefits in Toronto. Kathy answered questions from the group from 7:30 until approximately 8:20. Guest speaker, Brenda Turner, shared her personal story of life as an ileostomate and gave an informative lecture concerning the differences between Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis.
