Membership

Why Become a Member?

You do not have to have an ostomy in order to be an LDOA member. Care- givers, supportive family members or friends, physicians, ETs and other interested persons may also join.

  • LDOA provides moral support in an informal setting for persons that have had or will have ostomy or related surgery. Caregivers, family and friends are always welcome.

  • Educational material is provided and distributed upon request (audio-visual and printed).

  • The printed version of LDOA's bi-monthly newsletter will be mailed to your home.

  • You will receive a full subscription to our national magazine, Ostomy Canada, published twice yearly (Spring and Fall).

  • We hold monthly meetings beginning in September until June. Listen to guest speakers from the medical community or related field. Meet people who have survived ostomy surgery. Take a look at the latest ostomy care products offered by the manufacturers. Or engage in an occasional "rap" session where your questions or concerns are addressed.

  • As a member you will be presented with the opportunity of assisting others with their rehabilitation back into the mainstream of life.

  • LDOA provides national and international networking.

  • You are invited to work towards participating in our Patient Visiting Program.
